The first leg of our journey this time ’round took us through the slumbering hills of rural West Virginia. We rode I64 east from Louisville and then detoured through the Monongahela National Forest on highway 60, passing a variety of unincorporated towns like “Hopewell” and “Chimney Corner “. The first stop we made was at Hawk’s Nest in the New River Valley, Fayette County. The site was lined with stone walls and the lookout provided a panoramic view of the New River.
One of the best aspect of the place was that you get to pee in a Castle!
