I’m a little behind, but I wanted to tell you about our fantastic 3 day hiking trip to Dolly Sods. Ed and I decided to take this trip before the summer was over and life created even more reasons that made it difficult to take a few day. I am so thankful that we did.
A little history on the Sods to set the overall mood of this hike. The Dolly Sods Wilderness (DSW) is basically a high-altitude plateau and it’s flora and fauna is a lot like that in Canada. It’s altitude ranging from around 2,700 feet a to about 4,000 feet at the top of a mountain ridge on the Allegheny Front, which in general drops it’s temperature up to 20 degrees rom the rest of West Virginia. It makes it a great place to hike in the heat of the summer.
